Who is Ini Dima-Okojie?

Inibokun Iguerehi Dima-Okojie, popularly known as Ini Dima, is a Nollywood actress. She is famous for her lead role as Didi in the Netflix Original Movie, ‘Namaste Wahala.’ Aside from acting, she is also passionate about fashion, music, and modeling.

Dima-Okojie was formerly an investment banker before delving into the Nigerian film industry.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Ini Dima-Okojie is the last child of a family of six, born to Dr. and Barr. Dima-Okojie. She is from Esan North-East LGA of Edo, Nigeria.

Her father worked in the Nigerian Air Force; He is a retired military doctor and an air commodore. Her mother worked in a bank, although she was a lawyer.

Dima-Okojie has two sisters and a brother. She attended Air Force Primary School and Air Force Comprehensive Secondary School, Ibadan, respectively. Dima-Okojie graduated from Covenant University, Ota, with a Second Class Upper Division in International Relations.

She completed her NYSC at the Department of Petroleum Resources. Ini got engaged in July 2021 and married in May 2022 to Dr. Abasi Ene-Obong.

Her hubby, Dr. Ene-Obong, is from the Efik tribe in Cross River State, Nigeria. He’s a UK-based doctor and the founder and CEO of 54gene, a genomic company in Lagos.

Dr. Ene-Obong is also among the most innovative entrepreneurs in Africa by Quartz Africa in 2019.

Career and Rise to Fame

Ini Dima-Okojie started her career working as a customer care agent for a telecommunication company. Later on, she worked as an investment banker in a banking firm called ‘Cardinal Supreme Partners’ for two years.

She subsequently attended the New York Film Academy, where she sharpened her skills and had her debut role in the movie ‘Bad Hair Day’ in 2014.

Months later, she graduated and returned to Nigeria. Her first role in the Nigerian movie industry was as a production assistant for the movie ‘Before Thirty.’ 

Afterward, she got an acting role in the telenovela series ‘Taste of Love’ where she played ‘Feyisayo Pepple.’ 

In 2017, Ini Dima-Okojie was featured in the movie ‘North East’ as Hadiza Ahmed, a Muslim girl who fell in love with a guy from a different religious background.

That same year, she took roles in Royal Hibiscus Hotel and the 2017 Africa Magic Original Movie, ‘Battleground.’

Ini also won a role in the award-winning TV series ‘Smart Money Woman’ as Tami. The movie is based on a book, ‘ Smart Money Woman’ by Arese Ugwu.

She’s also famous for her lead role in the Netflix Original Series ‘Blood Sisters,’ where she played Sarah Duru. Other TV shows she has starred in include Oga! Pastor, 5ive, Skinny Girl in Transit, and the Desperate Housewives of Africa.

Ini has featured alongside several Nollywood stars, such as Omotola Jalade, Sola Sobowale, and Tony Umez.
