Olawunmi Toriola, popularly known as Wumi Toriola is a multi-talented Nollywood actress, movie producer, and business woman.

She is famous for her roles in Yoruba movies such as Iwakiwa, Ajewunmi, Ayomipo, and Queen Lateefa, both as an actress and as a film producer.

Her net worth is about $360,000.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Wumi Toriola is from Ogun, Nigeria. She was born in Lagos Nigeria, on July 11, 1988. She attended Providence Primary and Secondary School in Lagos. Then she enrolled in Lagos State University for a diploma certificate.

Afterward, she studied at the University of Ilorin, Kwara, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics.

Wumi was part of a Yoruba theater arts organization called ‘Odunfa Caucus’. In 2009, she obtained a diploma in Theater Art from the organization. She also attended a fashion school in 2017, where she got the idea of owning her own fashion store, WT Signature.

She got married to a US-based Nigerian on May 13, 2018, and had her first child named Zion on October 14, 2019.

Four years later, Wumi and her husband separated and she announced it on social media in January 2023 that her marriage was over.

Wumi Toriola started a skincare business in 2015, as she was passionate about healthy skins.


Wumi has been in the Nigerian film industry for 14 years. She got her first professional acting role in ‘Isese Lagba’, a Yoruba movie produced by Tawa Ajisefini in 2009, after which she featured in the movie, ‘Iwakiwa’, which brought her to the limelight.

Other Yoruba and English movies she has featured in includes Asewo, Gongo Aso, Iya Mi, Our Love Story, Eni Owo, Wedding Ring, Double Double, Eto Obinrin, and Battle on Buka Street.

In 2017, she starred with Gabriel Afolayan, Aisha Lawal, Allwell Ademola, and other Nollywood stars in ‘False Flag’, a movie with a message on living inclusively with HIV/AIDS patients.

That same year, she played a role in one of the highest grossing Nigerian movies of the 2017, ‘Alakada Reloaded’.

Wumi Toriola featured alongside Funke Akindele, Mercy Johnson, Sola Sobowale, Tina Mba, and Nkem Owoh in ‘Battle on Buka Street’, a 2022 film, where she played a supporting role as one of Yedije’s friend.

In 2015, she produced her first movie titled Ajewunmi. Since then, she has produced several others, including Obinrin, My Past, Ayo Ife, Sugbon Kan, Omo Better, Amomo Beta, and Lori Titi.

Apart from acting and producing movies, Wumi also runs multiple businesses. She owns a skincare line, hair brand, as well as a fashion store under the name WT Signature.
