Vantrel McMillan is a professional American football player. He plays defensive end for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL).

He has played in the NFL, CFL, and USFL. He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. McMillan stood out in football and was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

Early Life of Vantrel McMillan

Vantrel McMillan’s parents gave birth to him on May 9, 1994, in Albany, Georgia. His mother’s name is Pamela Jinks; there’s no information made public about his dad. And there’s no information about his siblings as well.

Pamela Jinks, his mother, worked two jobs to provide for her family. This is why the football icon will always say his mom is his biggest supporter. McMillan had a difficult childhood, but he found solace in sports.

McMillan began playing football at a young age. He quickly developed into a talented player, and he was recruited by several major colleges. McMillan ultimately chose to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).

His Journey into the World of Football

At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, McMillan became one of the most dominant defensive ends in the Southern Conference. He was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

McMillan finished his college career with 76 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks. He was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection while in college.

In 2017, he went undrafted in the NFL Draft and signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played one season with the Alouettes. Vantrel McMillan recorded 23 tackles and three sacks.

In 2018, McMillan signed with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. However, the league folded after one season. After graduating from UTC, McMillan signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent.

Vantrel made the Panthers’ roster and played in 10 games during the 2021 season. He recorded 2 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, and 11 tackles.

He had a breakout season in the following year, recording 31 tackles, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Therefore, they named him to the All-USFL First Team.

In 2023, McMillan signed with the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He quickly became one of the most dominant players in the league, leading the USFL in sacks and tackles for loss.
