Who Is Uriel BBNaija?
Uriel Anita Oputa, popularly known as Uriel, is a Nigerian personality well-known for being a housemate in Big Brother Naija, Nigeria’s largest TV reality show. She was part of its Season 2 in 2017 and is currently competing for a grand prize of ₦120 million in BBN Season 8 ‘2023’.
Besides, Uriel is a singer, songwriter, and businesswoman.
Personal Life (Early/recent)
Although Uriel is a native of Imo State, Nigeria, she was born in the UK, particularly in Hammersmith, England. Her father is British, while her mother is Nigerian. We currently can’t tell whether she has siblings.
She grew up in the United Kingdom and completed all her education in England. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in creative writing at Bedfordshire University, she moved to Nigeria.
Uriel once said that Charly Boy, one of Nigeria’s legends in the music industry, is her grandfather’s brother.
She bought her first car, a Honda Accord Crosstour, in October 2019, barely two years after her eviction from the BBN show. Since it was her first, she couldn’t drive it until she learned to drive.
Uriel is presently unmarried and has not yet been engaged to any man to date. According to her, she always prayed to meet the man she needed and not wanted and someone who would not negate her positive aura.
However, she said she’s looking out for a husband on BBN Season 8, the All-Stars Edition, which she was called back for, alongside 19 other past housemates.
Career – How Uriel BBNaija Became Famous?
Uriel is passionate about music and calls herself the Music Star. She has sung a few songs titled Nwoke Oma and Desire.
She was a contestant in BET Top Actor Africa Season 2 in 2016. It’s a South African reality competition series involving the contest of 12 upcoming actors. After contending for seven weeks, she was evicted, making her the first Nigerian to leave the contest. She exited the competition, leaving two Nigerians, two South Africans, and a Kenyan.
Uriel initially participated in the Big Brother Naija TV reality show in 2017, the See Gobe Edition. On July 23, 2023, she returned to the BBNaija, as a housemate in the All Stars Edition.
The new edition would last until Nigeria’s Independence Day, on October 1, 2023, and is hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
As an entrepreneur, she owns Uriel’s Kitchen, a Nigeria-based restaurant, and Uriellondonwigs, a business that sells women’s hair and wigs.
