Who is Terry Beckner?

Terry Beckner Jr. is an American football player widely known as a defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Maulers. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. Terry stands at 6’ 4” and weighs 305 pounds.

He is renowned for being one of the Underclass All-American honors in 2015 and the ‘2018’ Second-team All-SEC.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Terry Beckner was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, USA, on March 2, 1997. He attended East Saint Louis Senior High School, the only high school in this city in Illinois. In his last season during high school, he recorded 7 sacks and 107 tackles. He also participated in the Under Armour High School All-America Game in 2015.

Following his graduation from high school, he enrolled in the University of Missouri, Columbia, which he attended from 2015 to 2018. He played college football at the university, as part of the Missouri Tigers.

Career

Terry Beckner was drafted in 2019 when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. However, the team waived him on August 31, 2019, and signed him into their practice squad the next day, September 1.

Unfortunately for him on October 21, 2019, he was suspended by the National Football League (NFL) for violating its policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Before then, he was arrested while driving through Columbia for misdemeanor and for possessing up to 35g of marijuana. That made him get an indefinite suspension from playing with the Missouri Tiger.

His suspension by the NFL barely lasted a month, as he was reinstated on November 18. However, he was released by the Buccaneers immediately afterwards.

The following year on August 20, 2020, Terry had a tryout with the Chicago Bears football team and was subsequently signed into their practice squad on September 29. The team eventually released him about a month after on October 27.

Pittsburgh Maulers signed him into their team on May 6, 2022, and subsequently added him to their inactive players’ roster. A few days later on May 14, he was transferred to the active roster and added to their injured reserve list on June 1, 2022.

Terry Beckner was re-signed by the team the following year on August 10, 2023. Unfortunately, the team disbanded shortly afterwards when USFL and XFL merged to form UFL.
