Who Is Mawuli Gavor?

Mawuli Peter Gavor, popularly known as Mawuli Gavor, is a Ghanaian and Nollywood actor. He began his career in the financial sector, before transiting into the movie industry.

Before his rise to fame, Mawuli was a model and show host. Since he switched to acting, he has appeared in over 35 movies playing both lead and supporting roles.

Mawuli Gavor currently lives in Nigeria.

Mawuli Gavor was born March 22 in Accra, Ghana into a family of five. He has two siblings, a brother named Sebastian and a sister named Ewuraesi.

His brother Sebastian Gavor has been the Managing Director of Goldman Sachs, New York since 2011 till date. His sister Ewuraesi Gavor got married three years ago.

He had the early years of his life in Ghana, where he attended both Primary and Secondary School before he moved to the United States of America.

While he was in the United States, he schooled at Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Finance.

Mawuli is married to Reyma, an Indian-Australian Lady that was born July 1 and they welcomed their first child in 2023

Career

During the course of his study at Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Mawuli modeled in the United States.

Upon completion of his studies,he returned to Ghana to start up his career as a Financial Analyst at Cactus Corporation in January 2010.

In 2013, he quit his job as a Financial Analyst and took up another as an Audit Associate at KPMG between September 2013 and December 2013.

That same year, he began to host the television show ’30MinutesLive’ in Ghana.

Mawuli decided to transition into acting after he became brand ambassador for Martini Global in 2013.

His debut in the movie industry was as Sam in the 2014 movie ‘Devil in the Details’.

The following year, he played Ike in ‘I Do’, Kwame in ‘A Place Called Happy’ and Barima in ‘Heartbeat’.

He became famous for his character as Tesimi Tsenogu in the series ‘Hush’ this happens to be his very first role in a television series. In the series, he starred with Meg Otanwa, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ade Laoye, and Baaj Adebule.

In 2019, he featured as Officer Dan in the crime comedy movie ‘Sugar Rush’, alongside Adesuwa Etomi, Bisola Aiyeola, Bimbo Ademoye and William Uchemba.

Mawuli Gavor has featured in over 34 shorts, television series and movies some of which includes 3 Nights Ago, A Lady and Her Lover, Rumor Has It, 2 Weeks in Lagos, Mascara and The Hot Donor.

In 2022, he starred alongside Funke Akindele, Joke Silva and Nkem Owoh in the Netflix original film ‘Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke’. That same year, he played a supporting role as Pastor Zach in another Netflix movie ‘Man of God’. 

Recently he was cast to play Isaac in ‘Love in a Showroom’ and Chadley in ‘Single not Searching’.

Apart from acting, Mawuli is a fitness enthusiast, a model, a show host, and a brand ambassador. He currently represents Martini Global, Play Club Ghana, etc.
