Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad or Imole, is a late Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He sings Afrobeats, hip hop, amapiano, and afropop.

MohBad was among Audiomack’s top 21 Afrobeat artists of the Year 2021.

MohBad was born in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, on June 8, 1996. He grew up in the same neighborhood and was laid to rest there as well.

Although there is no specific information about his educational background, he completed his primary and secondary education in Lagos, from institutions unknown at this moment.

MohBad was married to his longtime girlfriend, Wunmi, @_c33why_ on Instagram, and they had a son together named Liam Light.

He died the same day his son became five months old, on September 12, 2023 at age 27. According to rumors, the cause of his death was an ear infection he was already treating. However, this may not be true as Gistlover claimed he was killed by his former record label boss, Naira Marley, though his friend. As its a rumor, it hasn’t been proven true.

Career

MohBad is one of the Nigerian artists who started their musical career from the street. He released his debut album, Light, in 2020. The following year, he was nominated for five awards at The Beatz Awards 2021.

In 2022, he posted on Instagram that he was leaving Marlian Records. Subsequently, he accused his former boss, Naira Marley, of assault. It went viral, as he frequently posted videos of him being beaten up, including his music video shoot disrupted by Samson Balogun (aka Sam Larry) who was a music promoter and a friend to his former boss. Several of his properties were also destroyed.

  • MohBad was depressed and never had peace until his death. Why? He was always scared that they would come after his wife and son, since they haven’t been able to get him.
  • He was planning his wife and son’s relocation overseas. Unfortunately, MohBad died a day to when his son’s passport was due for collection.
  • MohBad never let anyone call his child MohBad junior. Instead, he told them that his son’s name is Light.
  • His hit singles are Ko Por Ke, Ponmo, and Feel Good. Ko Por Ke, featuring Rexxie was nominated for the Headies awards 3× in 2022.
  • After his departure from Marlian Records in 2022 he didn’t join any record label.
  • According to various rumors, his death is not natural, as many believed he was killed by his former boss and Sam Larry. However, it’s still under investigation.
  • He could only feature two artists, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan Ibile, who were his best friends. It was believed that his former boss made other artists not to work with him.

  • He had collaborated in songs with several artists, including Davido, Lil Kesh, Zlatan, Bella Shmurda, Small Doctor, Oladips, and Lil Frosh.
