Who is Kobe Smith?

Kobe Smith, whose full name is Kobe A. Smith, is an American football player who is a defensive end and currently a free agent. He stands at 6’ 2” and weighs 312 pounds. Kobe has played for several football teams, including Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, San Antonio Brahmas, and New York Giants.

He is widely known as the Super Bowl (LV) champion for playing in the National Football League (NFL) for the 2020 season. Kobe wore the jersey #95.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Kobe Smith was born on June 23, 1998, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA. He attended Archer High School near Lawrenceville, Georgia, where he participated in collegiate games. Kobe subsequently enrolled at the University of South Carolina in 2016 and graduated in 2019.

During his study period, he was part of the South Carolina Gamecocks football team, where he represented the university in the NCAA Division I.

Career

Kobe Smith started his professional football career when the Tennessee Titans football team signed him as an undrafted free agent on May 7, 2020. He was previously unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft. On September 5, 2020, he was waived by the team and re-signed to their practice squad. He was subsequently released a few days later on September 21.

On October 20, 2020, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team signed him into their practice squad. The following year on February 9, 2021, Kobe signed a reserve/futures contract with the team. He was waived after some months on August 31 and signed again into the practice squad.

On January 24, 2022, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed another reserve/future contract with him and he was waived on May 16, 2022.

The Philadelphia Eagles football team signed Kobe Smith on July 26, 2022. He was waived after suffering an injury that same year on August 30. Kobe was then placed on injured reserve until his release on September 8, 2022.

The following month, the Atlanta Falcons football team signed him to their practice squad on October 10, 2022.

He was on XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas reserve list on March 29, 2023, and was released by the team on June 14, 2023.

On June 15, 2023, the New York Giants football team signed Kobe. Again, he was released on August 29, making him a free agent and not currently under contract with any team.
