Who Is Kehinde Bankole?

Kehinde Bankole is a Nollywood actress, who started out as a model participating in several pageantries before she landed roles in TV series and movies that brought her to the limelight.

Though she has been in the movie industry for over 16 years, she recently became famous for her roles as Miss Tawa in ‘October 1’, Olayinka in ‘Blood Sisters’ and Sistá in ‘Sistá’.

Kehinde is also a serial entrepreneur, who is involved in importation of hairs and cloths, she is an agropreneur and she owns a Jewelry line.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Kehinde Bankole is from Egba in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. She was born March 27, 1985.

She is the fourth of six children born to Mr and Mrs Bankole. Her father Mr Babatunde Olalekan Bankole was an architect, while her mother Mrs Titilayo Agnes Bankole was an administrative secretary.

She has a twin sister, Taiwo Bankole that ironically started to act before her, but decided to switch career to become an events planner.

The name of her other siblings are Oyinlola, Oluwasegun, Dotun and Folarin.

She schooled at Adeniyi Jones Primary School and Tunwase Primary School for her basic education. Kehinde also attended Baptist Girls College, Abeokuta and Government College Agege for her secondary education 

Upon completion of her secondary education, she gained admission to study Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.


During the course of her study in the University, Kehinde used to travel from Ogun to Lagos State to model. She was part of the contestants at the 2003 Miss Commonwealth Pageant. Although she did not win the pageant, she came out top five.

In 2004, she emerged as one of the top 10 contestants at the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageantry.

Her debut as an actress was in Wale Adenuga’s television series ‘This Life’, she also had roles in his other series like Super Story, Papa Ajasco.

Her first character in a full movie was in the 2011 film ‘Two Brides and a Baby’. Followed by her role as Kikelomo in ‘The Meeting’, which she played alongside Femi Jacobs, Rita Dominic and Jide Kosoko.

Since then, she has featured in television series and movies some of which includes Dirty Sunday, Country Hard, Prophetess, Dear Affy, Wives on Strike and Tainted Canvas.

She is famous for her role as Miss Tawa in the phycological thriller film ‘October 1’, which was produced by Kunle Afolayan.

In 2017, she portrayed ‘Tina’ in one of the highest grossing Nigerian movies of 2017 ‘Alakada Reloaded’ the third part of the popular Alakada collections.

Apart from acting, Kehinde is a show host. She hosted The African Kitchen Cooking Show, she has anchored several events for brands like Goldberg Nigeria, Infinix Nigeria and Nissan Nigeria.

She also hosted and produced a family talkshow called ‘Soul Sisters’

In 2019, she launched her jewelry line ‘Kenny Bank Collections’.
