Who is Justin Thomas?

Justin Thomas, whose full name is Justin Michael Bryant Thomas, is a former American football player and current quarterbacks coach of the Prattville Lions. He played as a wide receiver and free agent for several football teams, including the New Orleans Saints, DC Defenders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Rams, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Atlanta Legends.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Justin Thomas was born in Montgomery, Alabama, USA, on March 15, 1994. He attended Prattville High School in Alabama, USA, where he participated in the institution’s football, basketball and baseball games. Rivals.com then rated Justin as a four-star recruit in football.

He initially wanted to play college football for the University of Alabama (UA). Still, he rescinded his desire when the Georgia Institute of Technology’s team, Georgia Tech, offered him an opportunity to play as a quarterback. On the contrary, the UA wanted him to play as a defensive back.

Career

Justin Thomas’ college football career commenced when he was redshirted at Georgia Tech in 2012. He was a backup player to Vad Lee, an American football player presently playing as a quarterback for the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars. Justin played in ten games during this period, completed 9/17 passes for 131 yards, and rushed for 234 yards.

He is well-known for being among the best quarterbacks in Georgia Tech history. Justin was also named the game’s MVP for gaining 125 passing yards, 121 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, and a passing touchdown, assuming Vad Lee’s position after his transfer in 2014.

Justin Thomas started his professional football career playing for the New Orleans Saints. The team signed him as an undrafted free agent after participating in their rookie minicamp as a wide receiver and defensive back.

On August 3, 2017, the Los Angeles Rams signed him but waived him on August 18, 2017. The Pittsburgh Steelers subsequently signed him on August 23, 2017. He was signed into the team’s practice squad the day after being waived on September 2, 2017.

On September 27, 2017, he was re-signed after being released on September 20, 2017. He was again released on October 18.

On January 16, 2018, he signed a reserve contract with Pittsburgh Steelers but was waived by the team on August 27, 2018.

The Atlanta Legends signed Thomas for the 2019 Alliance of American Football (AAF) season. In October 2019, DC Defenders selected him in the 2020 XFL Draft’s open phase but released him in December 2019.
