Who Is Joe Aribo?

Joe Aribo, whose full name is Joseph Oluwaseyi Temitope Ayodele-Aribo, is footballer who plays as a midfielder for Southampton FC. He also represents Nigeria in men’s football games internationally.

Joseph is renowned as Rangers FC’s Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season in the 2019–20 season.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Joe Aribo was born and brought up in Camberwell, London, England, on July 21, 1996. He is six feet tall, and hails from Ondo State, Nigeria. His parents had moved to London before his birth in search of greener pastures.

He is from a middle-class family, and was influenced to represent Nigeria overseas, watching Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Okocha play for Super Eagles.

Joe has kept major parts of his personal life private, including his family and educational background. However, he is unmarried as of now, and we can’t tell whether he is in any relationship. He also does not have a child yet.


Joe Aribo has played for several teams since 2014, including Staines Town FC, Charlton Athletic Academy, Rangers FC, and Southampton Football Club. He started his career playing for Staines Town, where he appeared in 22 football matches before leaving for Charlton Athletic in 2015. Joe represented his team for four years in the English Football League, and left in 2019 after appearing in 81 games and scoring 14 goals.

That same year, he joined Rangers Football Club, where he won the Scottish Premiership in 2021 and the Scottish Cup in 2022. He left Rangers in 2022, after scoring 18 goals in 92 games.

On July 9, 2022, Joe signed a four-year contract with Southampton FC, which would end in 2026. He has featured in more than 28 games, since he joined his new team.

His debut in a Premier League match was between Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur on August 6, 2022. His team won the game with a 4–1 defeat.

Joe has diverse football playing skills, allowing him to play centrally or in a midfield role. He often uses his long legs to keep the ball from his opponents, which has really helped him in his games.

In August 2019, Nigeria national football team’s manager, Gernot Rohr invited him to a friendly away match to Ukraine. On October 13, he represented the Green Eagles FC, and scored a goal that made Nigeria win in a friendly draw against Brazil in Singapore.

Joe Aribo also played two group-stage wins at AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
