Georgina Chloe Eku Edewor-Thorley, popularly known as Eku Edewor, is a multifaceted media personality that has been in the movie industry for over a decade.

She is a film producer, actress, show host, and TV presenter.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Eku Edewor was born in London, UK, December 18, 1986, to a Nigerian mother and a British father. Her mother, Juliana Edewor is an interior designer and a restauranteur from Delta, Nigeria, while her father Hugh Thorley, worked in logistics industries and as a food and beverage supplier in the UK.

Her parents divorced when she was young, so she returned to Nigeria with her mum and twin sister, Kessiana.

Eku Edewor attended St. Saviour’s School and Grange School in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2008, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies at Warwick University in Coventry, England.

The following year, she took a three-month acting course at the New York Film Academy.

She had her first child on November 17, 2016 in London, although she is unmarried.


Eku Edewor first appeared on-screen as part of the competitors for the 2007 edition of the reality show ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’ as Georgina Edewor-Thorley.

The following year, she worked as a production assistant to the CEO of DJ films, Damian Jones.

In 2010, she co-hosted Big Brother Africa Live Red Carpet Show and hosted an entertainment programme on Africa Magic called 53 Extra. She also hosted Pepsi Top Ten Music Countdown and was a co-host of Channel O Africa Music Video Awards.

Eku has been featured in TV commercials, such as M-Net’s 25th Anniversary Commercial in 2011 and Martini Commercial in 2012.

Her debut acting role was in the movie, ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll’ as ‘Party Girl’ in 2010.

In 2013, she had her first lead role as ‘Sapphire’ in the romantic comedy drama ‘Flower Girl’. 

One of her most outstanding roles in a TV series was as Nneka Amadi, in Africa’s first legal series, ‘Castle and Castle’ (2019). She starred alongside Dakore Akande, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Patrick Doyle, and Bimbo Manuel.

Eku Edewor has starred in several films like When Love Comes Around, Your Excellency, God Calling, Entreat, Superstar, and A Sunday Affair.

Recently, she played the role of ‘Mrs Oyeyemi’ in the 2023 movie, A Sunday Affair, which also starred Nse Ikpe Etim, Oris Erhuero, and Dakore Akande.

Eku has also produced a few films, including Charge and Bail, Breath of Life, The Perfect Arrangement, and some TV commercials for Hero Lager, Trophy Extra Special Stout, Bigi Drink, and Fearless Energy Drink.

She was nominated as the TV Presenter of the Year in the ELOY Awards in 2014.
