Who is Drew Plitt?

Drew Plitt is an American Football player for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He is 6 ft 2 inch tall and weighs 93 kg. His current number is ‘7’ and his playing position is quarterback.

Drew began his journey into athletics as a Basketball and Football player in high school. He moved wholly into Football in 2016 as a freshman in Ball State University.

Upon graduation from college, he proceeded to play professional American football in 2022.

Early Life

Drew Plitt was born on January 9, 1998, Loveland, Ohio, U.S.

He attended Loveland High School, where he took part in basketball and football games.

During his time in high school football, he passed for 1,346 yards and 13 touchdowns.

College Career

Drew Plitt attended Ball State University, where he played in their football team between 2016 and 2021. During the 2020 season, he was named second-team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC).

Drew was granted extra year eligibility because the 2020 season was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his sixth and final season, he passed for 2,541 yards and 18 touchdowns while also rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns. 

Professional Career

After college, Drew Plitt participated in minicamps as a tryout player for several teams.

He finally began his professional career as an off-season and practice squad member in 2022.

The first team he played for professionally was the Cincinnati Bengals, followed by the Arlington Renegades.

Cincinnati Bengals

After being unselected in the 2022 National Football League (NFL) Draft, Drew continued to take part in minicamps.

On July 27, 2022, the Cincinnati Bengals finally signed him as an undrafted free agent.

In the Bengals’ preseason game, he completed all six of his pass attempts for 76 yards and one touchdown. 

On August 23, 2022, the Cincinnati Bengals released Drew Plitt 

Arlington Renegades

In November 2022, Drew Plitt was assigned to the Arlington Renegades of the Exclusive Football League (XFL).

Months later, he was placed on injured reserve as a result of a knee injury on April 3, 2023.

He was released to the team’s active roster on May 16, 2023.

In the 2023 season, he took part in five games. He made three starts and 63 completions for 100 attempts, 

During the game, he recorded 668 passing yards, three touchdowns, five interceptions, and a 71.6 QBR. 

Cincinnati Bengals (second stint)

Drew Plitt was signed to the Cincinnati Bengals for the second time on November 20, 2023.

This time he was signed to the practice squad of the Bengals.
