Devin Hafford is a well-known American football player and collegiate football coach in Texas. He holds the Defensive Back position as a senior football player.

Devin Hafford is a native of Atascocita, Texas. He was born on April 10, 1998, to Billy Hafford Sr. and Helen. Devin has two siblings, Darrin and Billy Jr.

He completed his secondary education at Atascocita High School, Humble, Texas, in 2016, majoring in Finance.

Devin attended Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas, for multiple academic degrees, which consist of a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s, as listed below.

  • 2016 – 2020 – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services
  • 2021 – MS Kinesiology and Exercise Science
  • Master’s degree – Sports Management

Career

Devin Hafford started his football playing career while studying at Atascocita, where he led his team with 106 tackles as a junior. He played in two seasons and was a captain for Craig Stump, an American coach and football player.

Fast forward to 2016, he played for the Texans as a freshman. He played 11 games and came sixth in the team. Devin recorded 54 tackles, four pass breakups, double-digit tackles (×2), 37 solo stops, and 1.5 TFLs.

Devin also played with the All-LSC Second Team as a sophomore in 2017. He represented the team in 12 games, grabbing two interceptions and defending 17 passes. 

He was named a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award for the nation’s Best Small College Defensive Player in 2018. Devin was also LSC Defensive Back of the Year. He defended 15 passes, had 34 tackles, and four interceptions that year.

Devin Hafford’s senior career commenced in 2019, playing in the season opener at Stephen F. Austin. He received a medical waiver after sustaining an injury at the end of the season and making four tackles.

In 2020, Devin became a Redshirt Senior and came fourth on the Texans in pass breakups.

In 2021, he emerged as the WAC Defensive Player of the Year in his first year. Devin recorded six interceptions, 50 total tackles (25 solo), seven pass breakups, and recovered two fumbles. His interceptions were tied-fourth in the NCAA Division I.

He ended his career at Tarleton after playing 56 games, defending 57 passes, and making 243 tackles. Devin was able to recover four fumbles.
