Who Is Daddy Freeze?
Daddy Freeze, whose real name is Ifedayo Lucian Olarinde, is a Nigerian-Romanian media personality. He is well-known as a radio show host and broadcaster.
Personal Life (Early/recent)
Daddy Freeze was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, although he possesses two nationalities. He is a native of Oyan Town, Osun State, Nigeria.
His father is a Nigerian, while his mother is from Romania. Besides, he grew up in Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria, where he studied up to university level. Daddy Freeze completed his primary and secondary school at the International School Ibadan (ISI), located within the University of Ibadan (UI) campus. He then attended UI for a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
Daddy Freeze is currently married to Benedicta Elechi, whom he dated for several years since his initial marriage ended. He had two children from his first wife, Opeyemi, until they divorced in 2014 due to alleged domestic violence and adultery.
He had a private wedding with Benedicta in the United Kingdom on September 27, 2022. She is a graduate of Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST). Benedicta owns Dictachi Foods Nigeria Ltd. and TasteBudz Real Naija Cooking.
She was once married to Paul Odekina but their union ended on the grounds that Paul was homosexual. Her marriage with him birthed three children.
Daddy Freeze started his career in 1996, working with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan. He was a correspondent on The World Chart Show, a radio program based on the most popular songs and music charts globally.
In 2001, he joined Cool FM as a senior broadcaster. Daddy Freeze has also worked as an MC for various events. He has hosted several events, comedy shows, and music concerts. Moreover, Daddy Freeze has worked as an event compere for premieres of Nollywood movies in Nigeria, Ghana, and the UK.
He also led the #FreeTheSheeple Movement, which operates as an online Church. The Church hosted weekday and Sunday services on the web.
Daddy Freeze served Cool FM for over two decades before leaving in 2020.
He has interviewed several A-List artists while working for Cool FM. A few of them include Wyclef Jean, Akon, D’banj, Tuface Idibia, ASA, Brick and Lace, and Charlie Boy.
