Born in Rolesville, North Carolina, Brandon Johnson’s athleticism was evident from a young age. He played both basketball and football at Rolesville High School, where he was a two-year letterman in each sport.

As a senior, he averaged 17.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per game in basketball. This earned him recognition as the Northern Athletic Conference 4A Player of the Year.

Also, they named him to the 2020 NCHSAA East All-Star Team after helping his team reach the second round of the state championship.

Johnson began his college basketball career at Brunswick Community College. While in college, he played under coach Walter Shaw for the 2020–2021 season.

He averaged 5.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 60% from the field. As such, demonstrating his strong rebounding skills and efficient scoring ability.

His Basketball Career

Brandon Johnson has the mindset of becoming a professional basketball player. Therefore, to take his game to the next level, he transferred to East Carolina University (ECU) for the 2022–2023 season.

Brandon quickly made an impact to solidify his qualification. He achieved this by recording a double-double in his first game as a Pirate with 11 points and 13 rebounds against South Carolina State.

Moving forward, he went on to grab a career-high 19 rebounds against Coppin State. Thus showcasing his impressive rebounding prowess.
