Chukwudi Echezona Chukwujekwu, popularly known as Blossom Chukwujekwu, is a Nollywood actor. His first role in the Nigerian movie industry was in 2009. Since then he has featured in over 83 television series, short films and lengthy movies.
Personal Life (Early/recent)
Blossom Chukwujekwu was born November 4, 1983 in Benin city, Edo State Nigeria.
He is the first of two sons born to Dr. and Evangelist Chukwujekwu. He schooled at Greater Tomorrow Primary School and Greater Tomorrow Comprehensive College, Benin city, Edo State.
Upon completion of his secondary education, he enrolled at Anambra State University to study Mass Communication. He spent one year in the school then he moved briefly to Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
Later, he gained admission into Benson Idahosa University, Benin city, to study Mass Communication.
During the course of his study in Benson Idahosa University, he was an active member of a drama group called ‘House of Theater’. In his final year, he was President of the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOS).
He graduated from the University in July 2008 and went to Lagos to carry out his National Youth Service Corps duties.
In December 2015, Blossom got married to Maureen Esisi. Four years later, they decided to go their separate ways and divorced in September 2019.
Blossom remarried three years after his divorce. He got married to Winifred Ehinome on May 20, 2022
Upon completion of his National Youth Service, he stayed back in Lagos to pursue his acting career.
Blossom went for several auditions, before he landed his first role as Tony Gomez in the 2009 movie ‘A Private Storm’.
He came into the limelight after his role as Tunde in the 2013 movie ‘Flower Girl’. That same year he played a brief role as Coach in MTV edutainment series ‘Shuga’.
Since then he has played roles in movies like Who’s the Boss, Sanitation Day, Unroyal, Black Rose, Gbomo Gbomo express, The Care Giver and a few television series like Tinsel, About to Wed, Shampaign and Festac Town.
Blossom Chukwujekwu was the main actor along with Adesuwa Etomi, Majid Michel and Ini Edo in the 2014 movie ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’. His role in the movie earned him his first award
In 2022, he was featured as ‘Igwe Mackintosh’ in the second part of the mystery crime action film ‘The Set Up 2’. Starring Kehinde Bankole, Tina Mba, Nancy Isime and Jim Iyke.
Recently, he got roles in star-studded 2023 films including The Trade, Holy Heist, The Date, Swapped Fate and I Do Not Come To You By Chance.
Blossom Chukwujekwu has been nominated for thirteen awards, but he emerged overall winner in one.
He won the Best Supporting Actor for his role in ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’ at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
