Who Is Bimbo Manuel?

Bimbo Manuel is a Nollywood actor and a scriptwriter that has been in the movie industry even before the advent of Nollywood. He started his career in the movie industry in 1986, after a brief stint as a broadcaster in two television stations.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Bimbo Manuel was born on October 30, 1958 in Lagos, Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary education in Lagos State, before he proceeded to University of Port Harcourt to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts.

Bimbo got married to Mojisola in 1998, and they have four children together.


Upon completion of his first degree, Bimbo decided to go into the entertainment industry. He started out as a DJ in a few clubs and parties before his friend advised him to get a job at a television station.

He began his professional career as a newscaster at Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation in 1985, and later switched to Ogun State Television before he ventured into the movie industry in 1986.

His first role as an actor was in the film ‘The Gods are not to Blame’. The film was based on a book of the same title written by his University Colleague Ola Rotimi.

That same year, he was part of the crew members on set for the movie ‘Hopes of the Living Dead’.

Since 1992, he has been on screen playing different roles as a pioneer actor in many home videos like Living in Bondage, Glamour Girls, Nneka the Pretty Serpent, Silent Night, Hostages, State of Emergency, Isakaba, etc.

His first role in a television series was in 2012 as Dan Ade-Williams in ‘Tinsel’, his next was as a counselor in three episodes of ‘Newman street’ that aired between 2014 and 2015.

In February 2022, he wrote and directed the stage play ‘Philomena’, which was shown at Presidential Hotel Port Harcourt City.
