Abimbola Aisha Ademoye, popularly known as Bimbo Ademoye, is a popular Nollywood actress that has featured in over 150 films and a digital creator that runs her own comedy series ‘Sibe’ and ‘Iya Barakat Teropi Secxxion’ online.
She came to the limelight after her role as Wuraola in the comedy drama film ‘Backup Wife’. Since then she has featured in numerous star-studded and award winning movies like Anikulapo, Jagun Jagun, Selina, The Other Side of a Coin and Blotted Lines.
Bimbo is estimated to be worth over $800,000 and she has 3.1M followers on Instagram.
Personal Life (Early/recent)
Bimbo Ademoye is an indigene of Ogun state, she was born February 4, 1991 in Lagos Nigeria.
The names of her parents are Mr and Mrs Adekunle Ademoye. Her parents divorced when she was 2 years old, so her dad single-handedly raised her and her elder sister Adebike Maryam.
She schooled at St. Margaret’s Primary School, Lagos and Mayflower Secondary School, Ogun for her primary and secondary education respectively.
She went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Covenant University, Ota.
Bimbo worked in the hair extension business after graduating from the University, she also worked as a presenter, marketer and receptionist until 2014 where she had her first movie role.
Her debut role on screen was as Rachael in the short film ‘Where Talent Lies’.
In 2015, she had her second onscreen appearance, which happens to be her debut role in a television series. She was cast in the series ‘Plus 234’ and ‘Desperate Housegirls’.
Her first role in a lengthy film was in ‘The Arbitration’ in 2016 and she became famous after her role as Wuraola in the 2017 romance comedy movie ‘Backup Wife’.
Since then, she has featured in over 150 films few of which includes All Shades of Wrong, Borrowed Heart, Love is Yellow, Saint Oyinda, Gangs of Lagos, Battle on Buka Street, Sham to Glam, Hotel Labamba, e.t.c.
In 2019, Bimbo Ademoye starred with Adesuwa Etomi, Bisola Aiyeola and Tobi Bakre in the 2019 Nigeria action comedy movie ‘Sugar Rush’, which became the fourth highest grossing Nigerian film of 2019.
Bimbo portrayed ‘Anu’ in the 2021 Nigerian emotional family film ‘Gone’. Starring A-list Nollywood actors like Stella Damascus, Sam Dede, Ada Ameh and Bimbo Manuel. According to her, working with Stella Damascus was a remarkable experience and a turning point for her career.
In 2022, she played the main role with Daniel Etim Effiong in the romantic comedy drama series ‘Selina’.
Later in the year, she starred as the lead character ‘Olori Arolake’ alongside Kunle Remi in the award winning Nigerian epic film ‘Anikulapo’ produced by Kunle Afolayan.
Bimbo Ademoye also has an online comedy and entertainment channel ‘Bimbo Ademoye TV’ that actively airs her comedy series titled ‘Sibe’ and ‘Iya Barakat Teropi Secxxion’ on YouTube and Facebook.
