Kamaru Usman lost his second professional MMA fight (CFA 11) to Khamzat Chimaev, popularly known as Know Way. The fight was held on May 24, 2013, in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, which he lost by submission (rear-naked choke). It lasted three hours and forty-seven minutes.

August 20, 2022 – Against Leon Edwards

Kamaru lost his second fight against Leon Edwards in the UFC 278 fifth round, which made him lose the UFC Welterweight Championship. The fight lasted four hours and four minutes in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, which he lost by knockout (head kick).

March 18, 2023 – Against Leon Edwards

Kamaru Usman had already won 20 professional MMA fights when he lost his third fight against Leon Edwards barely seven months after losing his second match with him. The UFC match, named UFC 286, is a five-round fight that lasted five hours in London, England, on March 18, 2023. He lost by decision (majority), even though one point was deduced from Edwards in the third round for grabbing the fence.

October 21, 2023 – Against Khamzat Chimaev

After losing his 24th professional MMA fight to Leon Edwards, Kamaru also lost his next fight, UFC 294, to Khamzat Chimaev on October 21, 2023. The three-round fight lasted for five minutes in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and marked his debut in the UFC Middleweight division. He lost the fight by decision (majority).
