Who Is Adunni Ade?

Adunni Adewale, popularly known as Adunni Ade, is a Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and model. She is well-known for role as the executive producer and as Sister Veronica in the Nigerian comedy movie, Soole (2021).

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Adunni Ade is Lagos-based and was born on June 7, 1985, in Queens, NY, USA. Her father is a Nigerian, while her mother is German-American. She returned to Nigeria a few months after her first birthday to attend her paternal grandfather’s burial in Lagos. Adunni Ade remained in Nigeria since then, and was raised in Lagos.

She attended Chrisland Primary School, Lagos, and Bells Comprehensive Secondary School, Ogun State. Afterward, she went back to the US for her higher education, where she enrolled at the University of Kentucky.

Her course of study is accounting, and she chose it because her father was a successful businessman. Following her graduation, she worked with Kentucky’s Housing sector and the State of Maryland’s Medical Insurance department.

As regards her relationship, Adunni Ade is unmarried, even though she has two sons (Ayden and D’marion Young) with her long-time American lover, Micheal Boyd.


Adunni Ade started her career working in the US, as well as venturing into fashion modeling. She was featured in America’s Next Top Model before she entered the entertainment industry.

Her first acting role was in the Nollywood Yoruba movie titled “You or I” in 2013. She also uploaded a comedy skit titled “Date Gone Bad” on YouTube, which recorded over 170,000 views.

Adunni Ade created her own film production company, Lou-Ellen Clara Company Limited, in 2021. She produced Soole that same year under her company. The movie made it to the Top 10 Nollywood Movies in Box Offices for 2021.

Besides, she has featured in nearly 300 Nollywood English and Yoruba movies, including Diary of a Lagos Girl (2016), The Vendor (2018), Ole Ole (2019), Coincidence (2020), Soole 2021), and The Perfect Arrangement (2022).

She has also starred in a number of television series, such as Jenifa’s Diary Season 2, Behind the Cloud, and Sons of the Caliphate Season 2.

Adunni Ade is an award-winning actress, having received the following awards and nominations:

  • Won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Lagos Film Festival
  • 2017 – Nominated for AMVCA’s Best Supporting Actress award
  • 2022 – Won the Cool Wealth Awards for the Best Yoruba Actress
  • Won NIJ’s Stella Award
