Adam James Armstrong is an English footballer playing as a striker for Southampton FC in the EFL Championship. He is 5′ 8″ tall and is recognized as PFA Fans’ Player of the Year in the 2020–21 season.

Personal Life (Early/recent)

Adam Armstrong is the youngest of two boys, and was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on February 10, 1997. His family is football-centric, and they supported Newcastle United. Interestingly, his father, Stephen taught him the technicalities of football while growing up.

As a kid, he often accompanied his elder brother to the soccer pitch, but couldn’t play because he was frail. At times, he was allowed to goalkeep or fetch the ball if it misses the post.

Adam Armstrong is married to Rebecca Armstrong, who he has been dating since he was a teen. As of now, they don’t have a child yet.

Career

Adam began his career with Newcastle United FX Reserves and Academy in 2006. He was part of the team until 2014.

That same year, he signed a contract with Newcastle United FC, and appeared in 17 football matches until he left in 2018.

Adam Armstrong was a loan player for several football clubs from 2015 to 2018. These include Coventry City, Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers, and Blackburn Rovers. He represented Coventry City FC in 40 games between 2015 and 2016, of which he scored 20 goals. Adam was also on a loan at Barnsley FC from 2016 to 2017, where he had 34 game appearances and scored 6 goals.

Besides, Bolton Wanderers loaned Adam Armstrong in 2017, and he has represented the club in 20 matches.

He started at Blackburn Rovers in 2018 as a loan player. After playing for the football team in 21 games, he was signed in that same year, and was able to appear in 130 matches with the team. He scored 58 goals for Blackburn Rovers, both as a loan and signed football player.

Adam Armstrong has been playing for Southampton FC since 2021. He has appeared in 61 games on behalf of the club, and scored more than nine goals.

As regards his international career, he has represented England in the following games:

  • 2015–16 – England U-19
  • 2016–2017 – England U-20
